6 Months down the track ....

I found some photos the other day I had taken to put on Facebook last November ready for the launch of our FB page. On seeing these images, it made me realise how far we have come in such a short space of time.

When I first started out in this business I just wanted to please everybody, and everybody's comments I took to heart and often made decisions based on them. Someone would come to me and say " Can you please make a such in such soap" I would reply " Oh sure, yes I can do that", order the essential oils and products and make it. It wasn't long before I realised that this was not an economical thing to do, and that I had to keep my niche as a niche - and not get broader and lose my target market. I learnt to say no. Not a no that offended anyone, but more of a no to myself. 

It wasn't long before I had businesses enquiring if I sold wholesale. This added an entirely new dimension to the business. Retailing yes - but wholesaling?  There was nothing stopping me from upping my production and start supplying those that wanted my products wholesale so the wholesale trade began.

Now 6 months in, I have 17 wholesale accounts and more in the pipeline. 

You often don't plan to change and evolve the way you do, but on reflection, it has been a lovely gentle slant that has taken us in the direction we are heading now.

I look forward to the next 6 months, and with a business plan now taking shape, I wonder if I can actually see into the future now.
